PostSubject: Los adverbios So & Such   Thu Feb 11, 2016 9:48 pm

SO (tan, así, entonces)
SUCH (semejante, tal, tan, tanto)

Estos adverbios se utilizan para dar énfasis

1. We use so and such a/an to emphasise the high degree of what we are talking about.

The film was so good that I saw it three times.
It was such a good film that I saw it three times.

2. We use so with adjectives, adverbs and quantifiers (much, many, few, little).
I’m sorry that you were so bored.
They spoke so quickly that I didn’t understand.
She drank so much wine that she was sick.

3. We use such a/an before nouns with adjectives. Before plural and uncountable nouns we use such (without a/an).
Naomi Watts is such a great actress.
It was such an awful film that I fell asleep.
Why do you watch such violent films?

4. So and such a/an are often followed by a result clause.
The cake was so good that I ate half of it.
It was such a beautiful day that we decided to go to the beach.
